Enhancing Analytics Ideas Challenge

Submit your ideas for developing advanced health system predictive analytic tools to improve mental health treatment outcomes for Canadian Veterans

Overview

The Veterans Mental Health Innovation Project Accelerator seeks to cultivate and scale a portfolio of innovation projects that are designed to improve timely clinical access and enhance Veterans’ experience across the Network of Operational Stress Injury Clinics located across Canada.

We seek to build an advanced predictive analytic solution to improve efficiency of service delivery through data driven decision making. The objective is to:

1) forecast demand for mental health services;
2) calculate capacity for treatment and assessment activities; and
3) relate demand and supply to wait times and treatment outcome.

Areas of Interest

We encourage ideas from academic, public sector, and private sector participants for :

1) A Predictive Analytics Calculation Engine to accurately predict future values of health system metrics; and

2) A Mental Health Supply and Demand Algorithm relating relevant mental health services, activities, outcomes, resources, and wait times.

Why This Challenge Matters

Veterans Affairs Canada is a learning organization committed to continuously improving services for Canadian Veterans. This Challenge aims to find out how advanced novel predictive analytics technologies can contribute to better data-driven decision making, and ultimately enhance efficiencies, care and effectiveness of services available to Veterans across Canada.

The challenge can also contribute to the development of open knowledge about mental health system optimization that will benefit all Canadians.

We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere.

Challenge Launch: 15th September 2020

Idea Co-Design Workshop:  30th September, 2020.

Submissions of ideas for this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM EST on 6th October 2020.
